Most don't, most of these will just steal your runescape username and password, then allow the owner of this mining software to simply hack your account and take all of your items. Some of them don't do this, instead they are just plain viruses that infect your computer. Why would someone do this? Because they are malicious that's why. Others are designed to record EVERYTHING you type in, such as credit card information, very bad indeed if someone gets a hold of this info.
